The Sociedad Cultural Cultural y Civica La Reforma  - SCCLR-  

is a newly formed Mexican-American organization based in Northwest Indiana and founded in the fall of 2006 with the help of seven core members.  The non-
profit group plans to host several cultural events throughout the year.  It will also offer community programs targeting youth and elderly.

The group welcomes all ethnicities and seeks highly motivated, creative members willing to dedicate their time and efforts in encouraging cultural
awareness.  Meetings are held every third Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm at 711 W. Chicago Avenue, East Chicago, IN at the Galaxy Travel office.

President: Debra Bolaños.   Debra is owner and manager of Galaxy Travel, Inc. in East Chicago, Indiana, director of the Ballet Folklorico Las Villistas and Xel-
Ha Escuela de Danza. She is on the Board of directors of the Northwest Indiana Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Hispanic Women’s
Forum of NWI. She studied/danced professionally under the direction of Amalia Hernandez (Director and Founder) of Ballet Folklorico de Mexico.....click here

Vice President:  Sal Bolaños.  Salvador Bolaños Jr. is co-owner of Nosotros Us Magazine and owns his design/photography studio in East Chicago. A very
out-spoken individual has carried him to the many respects of his peers and the latino community. Sal works part time as a varsity baseball coach at T.F.
South H.S. in Lansing Illinois and works for Deyoung Interiors in St. John. Sal Bolaños design can be found throughout the web and exclusively through his

Secretary:  Nancy Malagon.  The Texas native came to East Chicago, Indiana at the age of 4 and graduated from Purdue Calumet University in Hammond,
Indiana. Now a resident in Hammond, Nancy has worked in business administration her whole life and is currently Office Manager at RHI Refractories  in
Hammond, Indiana 3 years running. She is also a brick refractory supplier to Arcelor mittal and other steel mills in the country. Along with her jobs she carries
the job of a mother of 2 boys. Nancy has been active in her latino community since she was a teenager.

Treasurer:  Veronica Avila.   Veronica Avila has been in Banking for 8 years.  She was born and raised in Chicago, IL.  She has been married for 10 years
and has one son.  She joined Citizens Financial Bank in 2008 as the Banking Center Manager. Currently she Manages both Banking Centers in East
Chicago. She is very proud of being Hispanic and looks forward to continue to partner with organizations that conserve and promote our heritage.
