Press release:

On Saturday October 20, 2007 at the Radisson
Hotel at Star Plaza in Merrillville the newly
formed Northwest Indiana Hispanic Chamber
Commerce held their first annual “Black & White
Ball.”  The attire was strictly black & white bar a
few.  

The keynote speaker for the evening was none
other than Indiana Secretary of State Todd
Rokita.  Secretary Rokita congratulated the
Hispanic Chamber for its success and
emphasized how great the Hispanic contribution
is to NW IN’s economy.  



The MC for the evening was Ms. Eve Gomez of
Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.  On August 22, Wells
Fargo Home Mortgage sponsored the Hispanic
Chamber’s Luncheon as well as the “Black &
White Ball”.  The Luncheon drew 150 people also
held at Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza.  



That evening his Hon. Sheriff Roy Dominguez
presented the Chamber President Gilbert Velez
with an official declaration plaque declaring Oct
20 as NWI Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Day.
